Overall, the banking sector accounted for the largest share of the economy and increased steadily over the period, while the automotive sector experienced a significant decline.
To begin with, the banking sector started at around 31% in 2000 and rose gradually to reach 41% by 2020. In contrast, the automotive sector declined steadily from its peak of 21% to just 5% at the end of the period.
The IT service industry and the tourism sector followed similar patterns, as both experienced fluctuations. The IT sector reached a peak of around 21% before dropping to approximately 11%, while tourism climbed to about 31% and then decreased slightly to around 26%.
Meanwhile, the energy sector, which accounted for 26% in 2000, showed only a minor change, falling slightly and stabilising at roughly 21% towards the end of the period.
