The bar chart illustrates the percentage distribution from five economic sectors in France every ten years between 2000 and 2020.
Overall, the economic share from automative and energy sectors declined during the examined period, while IT Services and tourism remained relatively stable. By contrast, there was a considerable rise in the economic share originating from banking sectors in France.
At the beginning, the levels of economic share from automotive sector stood at just above 20%, while that from energy accounted for just over 25%. In the next 20 years, the automotive sector experienced a significant fall in its economic share, declining by around 5% and then 11% in every ten years. Energy sector recorded a similar trend – the economic share dropped around 5 % in the first ten years and then levelled off until the end of the period.
In comparison, the proportion of economy in banking industry grew steadily from just over 30% to around 42% by 2020, rising around 5% in every ten years. The economic share from IT service and tourism witnessed a promising growth in the first ten years, with the IT service rose significantly higher by 10%. However, both industries dropped to the original levels of the total economic distributions by 2020.
