The diagram compares the number of books sold in four types at the Ekushey Book Fair in 2013.
At first glance, novels were the most popular genre for customers, while poetry was the least popular.
It is evident that novels and science fiction were the two best sellers throughout the year. Particularly, the data for novels were 4500 copies, exceeding the other three categories. Meanwhile, the copies sold of science fiction were lower than that of novels 500 copies, reaching 4000 copies.
On the contrary, history books and poetry experienced significantly lower sales. The figures for history attained 2500 copies, which was nearly two times lower than novels. Whereas, poetry was even worse, achieving just one-ninth of novels’ s sales and one-eighth of science fiction’s sales respectively.
