In most categories, boys have higher percentages of drug consumption compared to girls, with the exception of cocaine, where usage level is equal for both genders.
Hashish or marijuana is the most popular drug, with approximately 29% of girls and 32% of boys using it. Similarly, heroin, opium or morphine is more common among boys, at around 8% compared with 5% of girls. For solvents, approximately 4% of boys take them, while the figure for girls is slightly lower at about 3%.
In contrast, the percentages for the other drugs are considerably lower. Around 4% of both girls and boys take cocaine, making the figure equal. About 4% of boys take amphetamines, compared with only 2% of girls. Meanwhile, approximately 3% of boys use LSD and recreational medical drugs, compared with 1% of girls in each category.
