The given bar graph displays an estimation of the increase in food production that is required to feed the population of each continent in 2045.
Upon observation, one can see that the the projected requirements for Africa reach around a whopping 400 million metric tons of additional food production needed to feed its population. This is quite an alarming number for a continent which is not very densely populated. It both indicates the current disparity between the demand and supply of food as well as how the gap is projected to keep widening, leaving the general population in a state of poverty and hunger.
The graph also shows the estimated increase in food production for other continents. South America, Asia and North America are expected to required an increment of around 50 million MT, 40 million MT and 20 million MT respectively. Europe displays the lowest required increase in food production which implies that it will very likely be successful in fulfilling the requirements of its population.
These statistics are a helpful aid to shed light on the global food shortage crisis and urge people in positions of power to take measures in order to ensure food security for all.
