The bar chart represents the expectations of young European people who participated in a survey about potential changes in five different aspects of life over the next two decades.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that interpersonal communication recorded a high level of optimism, while air quality in urban areas were strongly believed to suffer a degradation.
Regarding interpersonal communication, 46% of the respondents predicted that this area would get worse, while 54% of young people were more optimistic about this aspect. As for food quality, the percentage of people who anticipated a positive change stood at 49%, which was slightly lower than that of pessimists by 2%.
Turning to study participants of health, the negative expections were more noticeable than the positive ones, at 58% and 42%, respectively. Water quality recorded a high percentage of people who believed there would be a deterioration, specifically at 60%, whereas only 40% were positive about future changes. Lastly, air quality witnessed a more pronounced divergence, with 77% of participants predicted a negative change, which was significantly higer than those who expected an upgrade by 54%.
