Overall, it is evident that huge number of immigrants who stayed up in the UK 2 or 4 years increased sharply over the year, moreover proportion of immigrants intenteded to live up to 2 years remained stabil througout the year. As for reasons many of them imigrated to the UK for work.
Starting with how long immigrants intended to live, huge number of migrants migrants at 100 thousand remained there for as long as 4 years by 2000, this was followed by up to 2 years with 20 thousand. Moreover 2 or 4 years had the lowest number of migrants. The figure for 4 or more years saw an constant increase from 100 thousand to almost 140 thousand by 2007, and the the number of migrants stayed up to 2 years remained similar in the number at 80 thosuand. In contrast the figure for 2 or 4 years rose dramaticaly over the period and reached its peak at 147 thousand.
Regarding purposes of migration, the huge proportion of migrants went to the UK for working at 33%, which means the highest percentage compared to study with 28% and accompany at 21%. Moreover the figures for no reason and other, remained the lowest percentages other purposes at 11%, then no reason accounted for 7%.
