First, it is noticed that in 1992, gender gap is quite high around the world, approximately 27 %. It was the highest in Latin America and the Caribbean, scoring nearly 40 %, way more than the others by over 10%. However, the gap dropped drastically, attaining 26% in 2012. On the other hand, the gap in South-East Asia and the Pacific in 1992 was below world average, hitting 25 %. The gap remained stable till 2002, then it declined slightly to 23%. Moreover, the discrimination in Central and South-Eastern Europe was 21% in 1992, then it reduced to 19% in 2002. It increased a little, attaining slightly above 20% in 2012. Finally, the difference in employment rate and salary between men and women in USA, Canada and EU was 20% in 1992 and it dropped to 15%, which is the lowest gender gap in 2012 by 5%.
In conclusion, the gender gap around the world dropped by 2% from 1992 to 2012, being the highest in Latin America and the lowest in USA, Canada and EU.
