Two charts compare data about the use of water around the world from 1900 to 2000 and in two different countries in 2000.
It is clear , that using water in agriculture was more than industrial and domestic use at the time span. By contrast, the amount of consumed water per person was the highest in Brazil.
In 1900, people used about 500 km³ of water on agriculture, while the amount of water in industries and residences was not visible at that time. Then then the first one grew significantly in 100 years and reached 3,000 km³ of water ,water which is the highest amount of all. By contrast, the figure for industrial and domestic use of water went up slightly with 1,000 and around 250 km³ respectively by the end of 2000.
The amount of water consumed was 359 m³ for every person in Brazil, which is the highest figure in 2000 while people used only 8 m³ of water for each person in Congo at that time. 26,500 km³ of irrigated lands were in Brazil, while Congo had 100 km³ lands in irrigation sector in 2000.
