The given line graph and table demonstrate data about global water usage by three sectors and water consumption in Brazil and Democratic Republic of Congo in 2000.
Overall, agriculture was the main sector that used the largest amount of water in the graph. The table, on the other hand, Brazil consumed more water than the other country.
Regarding the line graph, agriculture started at around 500 km^3 initially and rose gradually. In 2000, it reached its peak at 3,000 km^3. The figure for industrial use was almost the same as that for domestic use in the beginning, with almost zero; then, it grew steadily. Eventually, the amount of water use by industrial area moved upward to above 1,100 km^3, whereas that by domestic sector was approximately 450 km^3.
Regarding the table, the Brazilian population was higher than the population in Congo, with 176 million compared to 5.2 million. The irrigated land in Brazil was 26,500 km^2; meanwhile, that in Congo was 100 km^2. Consequently, the proportion of water consumption per individual was bigger in Brazil at 359 m^2, but the figure for the other country was only 8 m^2.
