France had higher figures than australia in terms of population, inbound tourist arrivals, and international tourist receips, while Australia outperformed France regarding tourism as a percentage of GPD.
Figure for international tourist arrivals in countries Europe, Asia Pacific, and America increased gradually. With Europe Asia Pacific, and America maintaining steady upward trends in number of tourist arrivals from 400 million, just below the 200 million, and approximately 170 million to about 1,200 million, 800 million, and 600 millions respectively during 35 year period from 1950 to 2020. While foreigns arrivals in countries Africa and Middle East remained relatively stable at 0 million during the timeframe.
Looking at the table, France recorded significanly higher figures than Australia in most categories. Number of population, inbound tourist arrival, and international tourist receips stood at 67 million, 89.4 million, and 60.7 billion respectively whilst the figure for these categories made up 25 million, 15.3 million, and 45.1 billion respectively. In addition, Australia outstripped the France in percentage of GPD of tourism with 8.6% in Australia while 7.8% in France.
