The chart compares the proportion of global wealth with the percentage of population across eight different regions.
Taking the information into account, the number of global wealth is distributed unequally. Regions such as Europe, Rich Asia-Pacific, and North America possess a significantly larger share compared to their population size, whereas highly populated regions like China and India own relatively little wealth.
North America represents only 6% of the world’s population but controls roughly 34% of global wealth, making it the wealthiest region shown. Europe displays a similar pattern, accounting for 15% of the population while holding approximately 30% of total wealth. Similarly, the rich Asia-Pacific region also contains only 5% of the inhabitants but owns nearly a quarter of the global wealth.
On the other hand, China has the largest population share at about 25%, yet its wealth proportion is minimal at only 3%. Other Asia pacific made up 16% of the inhabitants and had only 3% of wealth proportions. India accounted for 16% of the population but only has 2% wealth, remaining the lowest wealth proportion.
