Conversely, the richest class in the UK accounted for between around 3.1% and 3.8% expenditure on petrol, whereas the figure for the USA was slightly lower, from roughly 2.3% to 3.7% of income spent.
Concerning the remaining group, the percentage of petrol expenditure by the UK middle-income class was approximately from 2.6% to 3.7% spending on such fuel, while the USA followed a contrasting pattern, with the figure standing at between 3.8% and 4.9% expenditure, marginally surpassing this figure for the UK.
