Illustrated in the graph is the number of international tourists arrived in North America, Central and Eastern Europe, South-East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and South America from 1990 till 2005.
Overall, the proportion of tourist arrivals in the five parts of the world increased in different trends over the period in question. Additionally, the quantity of millions of international guests in North America was the highest at the beginning of the period in contrast to the lowest in South America.
Looking at the details, as regards the North America, the number of tourists from other countries rose markedly to 90 millions in 2000 and plateaued until 2005. Following that, the proportion in South-East Asia went up moderately from 20 to 50 millions over a twenty-five-year period. In terms of the trend in Central and Eastern Europe tripled sharply.
Regarding the quantity of foreign tourist in South America and Sub-Saharan Africa was at 9 millions. Throughout the period in the two last parts of the world it followed a similar trend and had a steady growth to 17 and 22 millions respectively.
