The graph illustrates the proportion of unit sales of 5 various flavors of jam, namely, strawberry, raspberry, plum, cherry and grape of a particular company between 2009 and 2014. Sales units are callibrated in million.
Overall, it is evident that strawberry jam maintained its dominance throughout the given period followed by raspberry. Whereas, there was considerable decline in sales of plum jam. There was fluctuation in sales of cherry flavored jam over the period of 5 year.
Looking at the graph, in 2009, strawberry jam accounted for the highest sales among all the categories for 3.5 million before reaching at its peak in 2013 (6.5 million) and finally increased gradually by 0.3 million in the final year. Raspberry jam, on the other hand, witnessed steady growth in sales which started off at roughly 3 million and rose steady in between 3-4 million before reaching highest sales of approximately 5 million in 2014. Whereas grape jam which was the least sold one in 2009 of just 1 million, had significant increase in sales and soared to just above 3.5 million, making third highest sales among five categories.
The figure for sales of cherry jam had fluctuated over 5 years which begun with 1.5 million in 2009 but altered in between 1.5-2.5 million from 2009 to 2012 until it finally declined to 2.45 million sales in 2014. By constrast, there was noticeable fell in sales of plum jam which was third highest favored in 2009 for roughly 2.6 million which continously declined by 0.1 million each year and finally recorded its lowest sales of 0.2 million in the final year.
