Overall it is clear that The number of Both female and male smokers decreased significantly by 2021, While men always smoked more than women

To begin with men always smoked more than women. There was dramatic decrease in men’s smoking from over 4 million in 2011 to above 2,5 million by 2016.After that this remained almost unchanged till 2019. Then this dropped substantially from just over 2,5 million in 2019 about 1 million by 2021.

Women’s smoking declined substantially from about 4 million in 2011 to under 1 million by 2013 then this trend fluctuated mildly till 2018. This trend went down moderately from under 1,5 million to about 1 million
