The bar graph depicts data about how many millions of men and women were smoking cigarettes in the United Kingdom from 2011 to 2021.
Overall, the number of people who smoke decreased significantly in both sexes. There were more male smokers than of females in any year given.
Initially, there were just over 4 million male smokers in 2011, but this dropped substantially to around a third in 2013. Then figures fluctuated moderately from about 2.5 to 3 million till 2019, before declining to its final value of approximately 1.2M in 2021.
On the other hand, there was a slight difference of about a quarter of a million in female smokers in 2011, futhermore this numbers plummeted dramatically to just under a million in 2013. Slight fluctuations were noted between 1M and 1.7M, before finally reaching its lowest level at around three quarters of a million in 2021.
