The bar chart illustrates the countries of origin of passengers arriving in Mexico on international flights over a six-year period beginning in 2005.
Overall, it can be seen that the number of passengers from the USA was the highest throughout the period, whereas South America consistently recorded the lowest figures. In general, arrivals from Canada and Europe increased over time.
Looking at the details, in 2005, approximately 6.5 million passengers travelled from the USA to Mexico, making it the largest source of international arrivals. This figure rose slightly over the following years and remained relatively high, before experiencing a small decline in 2009. By 2010, the number stood at around 6.3 million passengers.
In contrast, South America had the lowest number of passengers. About 400,000 people arrived from this region in 2005, and although the figure increased gradually, it reached only around 500,000 by 2010. Regarding Europe, around 1.5 million passengers entered Mexico in 2005, and this number remained fairly stable until the end of the period. Similarly, the number of passengers from Canada rose steadily from just under 1 million in 2005 to approximately 1.5 million in 2010.
