Overall, the figure for tourists from Canada increased modestly compared to others . In addition, the USA saw massive leap in the number of tourists traveling to Mexico on global flights.
Regarding the Canada, approximately 10 million passengers travelled to Mexico in the first two years, after which there was a sharp upturn to 1,5 million visitors 4 years later. As for the USA, the figures accounted for the highest number of tourists, with just under 6,8 million passengers in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Although it significantly went down to about 5,8 million visitors, data recovered to more than 6 million tourists.
In the first year, although the number of Europe visitors started at approximately 1,5 million and then rose sharply to lower then 2 million over the next 3 years, it decreased to roughly 0,5 million in last year. With respect to S.America passengers, having decreased slightly from approximately 0,5 million to lower than 0,4 million in first two years, figures then recovered to around 0,5 million- 0,7 million from 2007 to 2010.
