The gragh demonstrates how the price of bananas has changed in four countries, namely Japan, France, Germany and USA, from 1994 to 2004.
Overall, it can be seen that Japan and USA’s cost of bananas witnessed an upward trend throughout the specified period, while the opposite pattern was true for remaining countries. Whereas prices in USA experienced a steady growth, other three countries recorded some substantial fluctuations.
Regarding Japan and France, the former country’s cost of bananas inflated rapidly between 1994 and 1995, reaching its peak with just under 3 dollars per kilogram. In the further year prices saw changes in opposite way and then ware relatively constant until 2000. After fluctuating for four years, the final price accounted for 2.5 dollors for kg.
In terms of USA and Germany, the latter one’s starting point was under 1 dollar in 1994 and afterwards recorded minimal changes until 1998. The price of bananas was stable across the remaining period. However, prices in Germany were less stable and commenced from approximately 1.4 dollars per kg. Other significant changes occured in 1999 and 2001, accounting for 1.5 and about 1.4 dollars, respectively.
