Overall, the most expensive bananas were sold in Japan while people in the USA enjoyed the lowest banana prices throughout the period given.
To begin with, a kilogram of bananas was sold for approximately 2 dollars in 1994, before sharply rising to 3 dollars and subsequently dropping to 2 dollars again in 1996. However, it decreased to a low of about 1.5 dollars in 2001, before increasing to 2.50 dollars in 2004. Contrarily, the price of bananas was at its lowest in the USA in 1994, at just below 1.00 dollar. However, there was a substantial escalation in banana prices to reach above the 1 dollar in the next year. Nevertheless, the price remained stable until the end of the period.
With regards to banana prices in the remaining countries, in France, the price plateaued for three years at just over 1.50 dollars, before deeply fluctuating and dwindling to precisely 1.5 dollars in 2004. Finally, Germany exhibited relatively a similar price pattern over the period given; the price commenced at 1.5 dollars and insignificantly declined to just below 1.5 dollars, after fluctuating until 2002.
