The line graph illustrates information about the quantities of goods transported by six different modes of transport (Road, Air, Water, pipelines, Railway and Cable) in USA since 1990 with projections until 2040. Units are measured in million tons.
Overall, the road transporting more goods, whereas the cable transporting least.
In the beginning of the period, the road transporting by 35 million tons, water was 20, railway nearly 15, air, pipelines and cable were 4 million tons. Over the next three decades, the road increased significantly which was reached to above 40, water and railway rose gradually with respect to 23 million tons. Similarly, air and pipelines increased gradually to 8 and 6 respectively. While, cable fell to 2 million tons.
With projections in 2040, road, railway and water shows increasing their value from current trends. Road will reach nearly 50 million tons, Railway will increase to 32, Water rise 25. In contrast, pipelines, cable and air predicts remain stable.
