The graph quantifies the sale of bakery products, specifically, bread, buns and pies from January to December in the year 2014.
It can be broadly interpreted that the sale of three items have fairly fluctuated over the course of 12 months. The sale of bread saw the most changes in sale, with drops and rises from January to December. A rise was observed in the case of buns but there was a steady drop in sales after August. The sale of pies grew slowly but steadily from January onwards, and sales shot up after October.
In the beginning of the year, bread was the most sold product in the bakery followed by buns and then pies. The shop earned 80,000 dollars from the sale of bread in January. In February, the sale of bread saw a drop to an approximate of 50,000 dollars; equalling the sale of buns for the month. The rate for pie remained the lowest at 10,000 dollars. In the next month, the sale of bread dropped, and buns were the most sold item. The amount received from bread and buns were the same in April and June, 65000 dollars and 70,000 dollars respectively. Between both the months, the sale of bread fell sharply to 40,000 dollars. From October onwards, many changes were observed – the sale of bread rose while that of bun started falling and the sale of pie started increasing. At the end of the year, bread remained the most popular item, with pie in second position and buns in third.
Through the analysis it can be revealed that all three products studied- bread, buns and pie went through multiple changes in their popularity in the bakery over the course of 2014.
