The graph shows information about job positions in manufacturing, agriculture, retail and healthcare in the US between 1960 and 2020 .Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were considerable upward trends in the number of jobs of both Retail and Healthcare, while the job numbers of both manufacturing and agriculture saw a considerable fall over the period in question. Another interesting point is that the number of jobs in manufacturing was the most compered to the other three sectors in 1960, but in 2020, the highest levels of employment were in the retail and healthcare sectors
Looking at the details, in 1960, the number of jobs was 2 million healthcare sector while this figure for agriculture and retail sectors showed 7 million. However this number in manufacturing sector represented 15 million. There were a sharp rise in the number of jobs in three sectors, namely, manufacturing, retail and healthcare, with 5 million, 4 million and 3 million respectively between 1960 and 1980 . However , this number fall significantly from 7 million to 3 million in agriculture sector.
From 1980 to 2000, the graph underwent noticibly changes while the number of jobs in manufacturing decreased, at 3 million, compared to retail and healthcare sectors, which continued to grow and the increase was 5 million and 7 million in retail and healthcare, respectively. Between 1980 and 2000, the figure for agriculture stayed the same. In 2020, the figure went up to 16 million in retail and healthcare sectors. As for manufacturing sector, this figure dropped by about 4 million from 2000 to 2020 There was an insignificant decline in the number of jobs in agriculture sector between 2000 and 2020.
