The graph illustrates how much money four cities invested in upgrading their public transportation systems between 2010 and 2025.
Overall, London and Tokyo spent significantly more than the other cities, while Paris and Tehran invested comparatively lower amounts. In addition, London showed a steady increase over the period, whereas the other cities experienced fluctuations.
In Tokyo, investment stood at approximately 18 million euros in 2010, rising to around 23 million in 2015. It then fell slightly to 20 million in 2020 before increasing again to about 22 million in 2025. Similarly, London’s spending grew consistently, from 20 million in 2010 to roughly 23 million in 2015, followed by a further rise to 24 million in 2020, eventually reaching a peak of about 27 million in 2025.
By contrast, Paris invested much less overall, starting at around 8 million euros in 2010. This figure increased to 12 million in 2015, then dropped to approximately 9 million in 2020, before recovering slightly to 10 million in 2025. Tehran showed a different trend, beginning at about 15 million in 2010, declining gradually to around 13 million in 2015 and 10 million in 2020, before rising modestly to 11 million by 2025.
