The bar graph gives information about renovation investments of the public transport of four cities (Tokyo, London, Paris, and Tehran) between 2010 and 2025 in terms of million Euros.
In general, the data shows significant differences between the cities in terms of investment trends, with London having always shown the highest financial engagement and Tehran having the lowest value at the beginning of the period followed by a prominent growth.
In 2010, Tokyo’s investments in upgrading its public transport systems started at 20 million Euros but dropped to roughly 16 million Euros in 2015. It recorded an increase again, to approximately 22 million Euros in 2020, before the forecast fell to around 13 million Euros (an approximate drop of 35%) by 2025. For example, in London its investments started from 15 million Euros (2010), growing to around 22 million Euros (2015), and finally around 24 million Euro (2020). In 2025, however, investment from London dropped slightly to roughly 23 million Euros, a testament to a somewhat solid yet waning trend after hitting a high point.
The funding profile for Paris underwent a gradual increase for transport investments, starting from as low as 8 million Euros in 2010, then around 13 million Euros in 2015. By the year 2020 they had acquired about 16 million Euros for this purpose. Investment climbed to 17 million Euros in 2025. The investments of Tehran, despite being the lowest one at first, with an amount of 2 million Euros which was performed in 2010, had an impressive growth over the years where the amount was corresponding to about 8 million Euros in 2015 and 8 million Euros in 2020, whereas it hit 15 million Euros in 2025, indicating with the largest increase between the cities studied.
