The line graph represents the workforce trend among five different sectors in the USA from 1930 to 2010.
Overall, there was a dramatic decrease in farming, fishing and forestry sectors. Whereas, an upward trend can be observed for the other four sectors.
In 1930, majority of employment were in farming, fishing and forestry, accounting for about 80% of the population. However, an abrupt downward shift can be seen in 1970 with only 60% engaged to this sector and ultimately dropping to about 2% in 2010. In contrast to this, other areas of employment such as industrial, technical, sales and office , which were initially grouped at around 2% of the total work force, experienced a noticeable increase in 1980 persisting until 2010.
In 1980, the industrial workforce experienced the peaking at 20% followed by technical and sales and office constituting with about 15% of employees.
