The line graph provides information on the proportion of the labour force in services, namely industrial, sales and office, technical, farming, fishing, forestry, and others, in the USA from 1930 to 2010. The data are given percentage-wise.
Overall, it can be seen from the graph that the ratio of employment in agriculture sectors has decreased enormously throughout the whole timeframe. On the contrary, labour force rates in industrial, technical, sales, and office services have an upward trend, whereas the share of other ones changed a little bit.
As it is observed from the chart, there was a steady decline of the labour force in farming, fishing, and forestry from 1930 to 1960, starting at just under 80% and reaching just above 60%. During the same period, all other types of services experienced a fluctuation between 0% and 20%.
In 1960-2010, agriculture services showed a gradual fall, going to the bottom at just above 0% in the final year. While this period of time, industrial, technical, sales, and office notably grew from just around 10% to just under 40%, around 30%, and around 20%, respectively.
