Overall, all categories witnessed an upward trend throughout the period. Notably, the figure for holiday changed significantly, whereas meeting friends and relatives is the reason chosen by the lowest people.

Regarding to the reasons for business and holiday, the number of people opting for business and holiday were 5 and nearly 6,5 million in 1989, before experiencing different trends. While the data in holiday remained unchanged, there was a remarkable decrease to 4 million people in holiday. Holiday reaching a peak at 9 million travellers in around 1995, after which it declined and then recovered to the same level over the end of the period. Meanwhile, business climbed substantially to precisely 8 millions people, before declining by 1 million.
