The line chart illustrates users’ median yearly spending on cell phone, national and international fixed-line services in America from 2001 to 2010.
It is clear that while the anual expenditure on mobile phone services saw a significant growth, the opposite trend was true for national fixed-line services. Also, that of overseas fixed line services fluctuated minimally over the period.
In 2001, the money spent of cell phones was lowest at 200 dollars before rocketing to about 500 dollars in the next 5 years. Conversely, country fixed-line recorded a noticable drop of 200 dollar in yearly spendings . In the same period, expenditure of international fixed-line slightly increased to 300 dollars in 2006.
From the year 2006 onwards, spendings on mobile services surpassed which of national fixed-line, hit its peak at well over 500 dollars. At the same time, money spent on overseas services level-off at 300 dollars.
