The line graph represents a data on the changes in the amount of three different sources of Air pollutants and its sum in UK from 1990 to 2005.
Overall, while figure for all three pollutants decline over this time, amount of pollution caused by industry was higher than other two.
At the beginning of the period, from 1990 to 1993, around 1 million tons of air pollutant were generated from households and Vehicles. During the same time, the figure for industry was the highest, which is roughly around 5 million tons. However, there was a fluctuation in the amount of air pollutant coming out from residential areas. From 1993 to 1996, the number dropped from just under 1 million to around 0.2 million, rose slightly in 1999 to around 0.5 million and then fell dramatically to reach almost near zero.
By contrast, Although Industry produced the most amount of air pollutant till the end of the period, it still experienced a drastic declined from about 5 million in 1990 to 2 million in 2002. Since then, it remained plateau for the next four years. Likewise, the amount of total air pollutants dropped steeply from just under 7 million in 1990 to around 3 million in the final year with few fluctuations in between.
