In summary, all countries, except Scotland, experienced a slight reduction in female unemployment rates in 2014 compared to the previous year. Wales and Northern Ireland had the lowest average percentage in the two years, whereas the other two countries shown the highest rates.
The percentage of unemployed females in England dropped from 6.8% in 2013 to 6.5% in 2014. Scotland’s trend was in reverse to this as its rates increased by 0.6% after two years and consequently became the country with the most unemployed women out of the four.
Both Wales and Northern Ireland represented the lowest shares. The only difference is that Wales had a smaller decline than Northen Ireland. Its unemployment rate decreased by 0.4% compared to 1% in its counterpart. Overall, Northern Ireland recorded the highest reduction.
