Overall, it is clear that spending on entertainment increased dramatically over the five years in three regions, whereas citizens preferred to spend their money on publishing.
Looking into the details, the USA has the highest spending on various entertainments, in total 184 billion dollars in 1995 and 257 dollars in 2000. Publishing dominated entertainment form that people spent on, with around 145 billion dollars and over 200 billion dollars respectively. However, the cinema was the least preferred entertainment type.
In contrast, in Asia and Europe in 1993, the amount of money that was spent on entertainment was relatively low, just only 67 billion dollars and 97 billion dollars. Meanwhile, in 2000, the total amount of money that was spent on entertainment went up to 110 billion dollars and 131 billion dollars.
