Overall, Australian children tended to engage more in outdoor activities, regarding sports, whereas, New Zealanders children showed a preference in indoor activities, with the most favourite activity was art and craft.
There was a popularity of art and craft among New Zealanders children, at 25%, which is nearly five times higher than that of Australian – the least chosen activity by children in Australia. Concerning sports which leisure activities that Australian participate in the most, at nearly 30%. In contrast, the proportion of New Zealanders in this activity accounted for a minor percentage, at just over 10%.
The figure for books was evident that the percentage of New Zealanders children is more pronounced compared to Australian’s, at roughly 20% and 10%, respectively. However, children in both countries shared the same interest in computer games, at around 15%. Similarly to DVDs, 15% of Australian children participated in this category, while there was approximately 20% children in New Zealand enjoyed this leisure pursuit the most.
