Overall, China and Middle East experienced the same trend, both increased gradually throughout the period, while USA and Western Europe and Japan underwent an opposite pattern. Moreover, USA consumed the highest amount of oil.
It can be seen from the graph that China and Middle East both rose steadily from 2 in 2009 to approximately 4 and just over 2 in 2025, respectively. The figure, represented China is expected to decline to just under 4 in 2030, whereas Middle East’s data is projected to grow fairly to about 3 in the same year.
In contrast, Western and Japan’s oil consumption decreased moderately from 4 in 2009 to around 3 in 2015 before falling to just above 2 in 2025. This figure is forecast to decline gradually to 2 by 2030. Regarding USA, the total amount of oil consumed climbed rapidly from 9 in 2009 to 10 in 2015 and reached its peak. The oil usage is predicted to level off after experiencing a downward trend to 8 in 2025.
