At the beginning of the period, in 2009, the number of the USA citizens consuming oil started at 9 millions of barrels per day, after which it saw growth to 10 millions of barrels per day. The figures for China and the Middle East saw a similar change, both increasing to a peak of just over 2 millions of barrels per day. Opposite changes can be seen in the figures for Western Europe & Japan people oil consumption decline to 3 millions of barrels per day.
