The line graph depicts four different countries (Japan, US, China and India) proportion of import products from Australia between 1990 and 2012.
Overall, China became the largest export destination, while percentage of export to Japan and US decreased steadily. It is clear that, although India was a gradual rise, it made up the smallest stage.
Focusing on the increases firs, China and India started small amount of imports in 1990. Exports to China rose slightly at about 10% in the first around twelve years and that followed decreased significantly up to around at 25%, while exports to India reached a peak of approximately 8% in 2010 before declining slightly. At the end of the period, exports to China accounted for the largest share, at slightly more than a quarter.
In contrast, the proportion of exports to Japan and US declined over the period. Exports destined for Japan began the highest figure of trades with Australia at around 26%, whereas US represented at roughly 11% before fluctuated mildly. Exports to Japan showed a gradual reduce and finished the period approximately at just under a fifth in 2012.
