The giving table compares the average beer consumed in 2002 in 7 different countries to the number of alcohol related mortalities in these countries in the year 2005. Beer intake was measured in liters.
Overall, The number of deaths from alcohol intake as well as beer consumed per capita was highest in Czech Republic. This is in contrast To Lithuania where the death toll from thesame event was the least. Moreso, more males were victims of this menace across all the countries under review.
Looking at the statistics in greater detail, the Czechs and the Germans were the top two countries with alcohol- related deaths recording over a million mortalities each with the latter accounting for the highest male deaths,986,00 and former the highest female mortality rate,469,000.On the other hand, Lithuania and Estonia had the lowest death toll with a total of 125,000 and 383,000 respectively with Estonia more than three times that of Lithuania.
With regards to the beer intake per unit capita from the table,The Czech Republic consumed 132 litres, with Germany, Austria and Ireland following closely with a little above 100 litres.In contrast,countries like Austria, Canada and Estonia, recorded less than 100litres of alcohol consumption on the average.
