Overall, despite the fluctuation through the years, investments for wind energy became the largest one. The money was started to invest in solar energy only in 2010 , while energy smart technologies and “other” categories had insignificant levels of investments over the whole period.

The spendings for wind energy started from about two billion pounds and after fluctuation from 2008 to 2011 the constant rise started.It continued to 2015 where it reached the largest amount of investments over the years ( about ten billion pounds). Before 2010 money wasn’t spent for solar energy, however from 2010 to 2015 investments for this type of energy started.

As for the “other” category, a similar amount of money seems to be spent for it throughout the years ( from about 1 billion pounds to about 3 maximum ). Energy smart technologies had the smallest investments between 2008 and 2015 ( less than 1 billion pounds ).
