In 1996, the drama genre occupied the highest number of films released at around 28%. The figure for comedy started at the lower level with 20%, followed by the fantasy type with around 13% and romance with approximately 6%. In 2000, the figure for the drama genre saw a significant increase to reach a peak at 35%, moreover both comedy and fantasy increased rapidly to reach 25% and around 16%, respectively. The percentage of the romance type remained unchanged by the end of this period.
In 1996 the figure of the comedy genre was the most popular of cinema tickets that accounted for 20%, followed by the drama with around 16% and fantasy and romance accounted for around 5% and 10%, respectively at the beginning. After 4 years, the figure for comedy and drama experienced a slight rise to reach around 23% and 18%, perspectively. While the fantasy type increased dramatically to reach the peak at around 13%, the opposite was true for romance when it fall from 10% to under 5% by the end of this period
