Overall, it is clear that the amount of time spent for produce cars decreased over the period. While the figure of general motor and Ford declined significantly, those of Toyota and Honda decreased slightly from 1998 to 2005.
In 2001, the statistics of general motor experienced a sharply decreased, at 27 hours per vehicle. However, the figure of ford surged to about 31 hours, reached its highest point compare to others. Furthermore, the average hour to produce Toyota had risen and that of Honda had fallen to 23 hours and 20 hours respectively by 1999 before reaching at 22 hours in 2001.
On the other hand, from 2001 to 2005, the Ford’s car and Toyota’s car produced saw a notably downward trends, at approximately 22 hours per vehicle. Regard to Honda and Toyota, the amount of hours rose gradually to 24 hours with the same figure before went down rapidly with honda’s hours. However, the figure of Toyota remained flat until 2003 before declining at 20 hours per vehicle, resemble with the figure of Honda at the end of period.
