The below line graph illustrates the comsumption of three specific kinds of spreads from 1981 to 2007.
Overall, it is obvious that Margarine and Butter experienced the tendency of declining, meanwhile Butter was the most famous consumption of spreads at the beginning. In addition, Low fat & reduced spreads occured later and showed rising to top during the period, finally ranked top among the three types of spreads.
Looking at first in drop trend, the figures for Butter and Margarine experienced opposite changes from 1981 to 1991. The first one climbed to around 160 grams from 140 grams, then dramatically dropped. By contrast, another one decreased firstly to 80 grams from 90 grams and gradually increased. Adimmitedly, Butter and Margarine converged, both standing at 100 grams in 1991. After that, the proportion of Margarine remained stable until 1996 at 100 grams. And its figure witness a decline to 40 grams in 2007, while the figure for Butter dropped fluctratedly to 50 grams in 2007, respectively.
Coversely, in 1996, low fat & reduced spreads appeared and its figure sharply rose up to nearly 80 grams, which was equal to the figure for Margraine. Then it gradually dropped to 70 grams at the top of three types.
