The given line graph illustrates the consumption of three spreads- margarine,low fat and reduced and butter- over the period of 26 years ,from 1981 to 2007. The units are measured in grams .
Overall, consumption of margarine and butter decreased slightly over the period given,while consumption of low fat and reduced spreads rose sharply .
Regarding to the butter ,In 1981 consumption was highest ,having figure just over 140 grams. Following to this magraine was significantly below having consumption about just below hundred .Prior to felling sharply ,the number of butter used peaked to highest ever around 160 grams in 1986 . Consequently downward trend of butter till 1996 continued to reach just below than magraine consumption . whereas consumption magraine continued to fell till year 2000 where it finished just over 40 . However butter recovered slightly after 1996 to finish at just over magraine figure .
On the other hand , low fat and reduced spreads were introduced only from year 1996 . Its popularity boomed within the year it was introduced .It was eaten equal to level of magraine in 2001 .In succeding year the number dipped gradually but still it was highest consumed spread in 2007 .
