The line graph showcases how many US citizens favour various sports form 1985 to 2015. The data collected focuses on four major sports: American Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, and a fifth miscellaneous category called Other Sports. Overall, American Football is the most liked sport as its popularity has a net increase overtime. On the other hand, Hockey is the least popular as it experienced a net decrease in its popularity.
For the first four years of the graph provided, American Football and Baseball had the love of more than thirty percent of people in the US. While Basketball, Hockey and Other Sports followed behind respectively with percentages less than twenty percent. Surprisingly in the year 2005, Hockey no longer placed fourth and became the fifth most favoured sport with around six percent of citizens rooting for it, granting Other Sports fourth place (barely ten percent rooting for it). American Football, Baseball, and Basketball attained the same rankings with minor changes in the number of people liking it.
Five years later, another change occurs. Basketball becomes the second most liked sport, switching places with Baseball. American Football remains at a constant value of around forty-three supporters. As expected, Other Sports has risen in popularity and Hockey decreases. Finally in 2015, we can say that the final rankings for most liked sports is American Football, Basketball, Baseball, Other Sports, and Hockey.
