The line graph illustrates the count of participants in four different types of sports in one region from 1985 and 2005. Overall, despite its dominance, the number of people participating in rugby dropped significantly. Additionally, while the figures for tennis players rose sharply, those for basketball players ranked third and remained unchanged over the period given.
The number of people who participated in rugby was under 255, a number that then followed a downward trajectory for the rest of the period and ended it at only 50 in 2005. The count of tennis participants, on the other hand, exhibited an opposite trend. Starting at 150, the number of tennis players rose slightly to 230 participants at the end of the year.
The figure for remaining categories– basketball and badminton–bucked the trend . As for the former, 75 participants took part in basketball, after which no notable changes occurred in this sport, and it ended with similar numbers in 2005. While 55 people participated in badminton in 1985, the figure then experienced similar patterns, at 50 after 20 years.
