Overall, the number of applicants from Middle and Far East, Africa exhibited an upward trend, while the opposite was true for European applicants. Despite its initial dominance, the figure for European Nations was surpassed by Middle East applicants by the end of the period.
Analyzing the category with a downward trend, the figure for European Nations was significantly higher than that of others listed (30000). However, it witnessed a decline, reaching its trough (around 11000) by the end of the period.
Regarding categories with an upward trend, Middle East applicants exhibited only half of European applicants. Nevertheless, it showed opposite trend to European Nations’ figure, climbing to high of 30000 applicants by the end of the period. Notably, it surpassed the number of European Nations in 2001. Similarly, the Far East had only 10000 applicant, but managed to show a progressive increase, reaching its peak (20000) by the end of the period.
In contrast, Africa had about 2500 applicants initially. Despite its growth, it was significantly lower compared to other categories, albeit it reached 5000 applicants by the end of the period.
