The given graph provides data on how many people enquired to a city’s Tourist Information Office in three different ways in six months in 2011.
Overall, the number of direct enquiries and telephone enquiries showed an upward trend, especially in the former. Meanwhile, the opposite held true for those using email or letter. Additionally, April, May and June recorded considerably higher enquiries compared to the previous months.
In the first half of the period, face-to-face and writing categories followed the same downward trajectory, which started around 800 and 600, respectively, then both fell slightly two months after . Whereas most people prefer telephoning as the number of this section was doubled to 800 in March compared to its starting figure in January.
In the second half of the period, after leveling off from March to April, the amount of direct requirers and those using calls showed an upsurge. Face-to-face enquiries reached its peak at just under 1200 in June, while that of telephoning one was well above 1000. Noticeably, the remaining category declined dramatically from approximately 600 emails and letters received in March to only one-third of that in June.
