The line chart illustrates how many inquiries were received via three different methods of communication by the Tourist Information Office in a particular city during the first six months of 2011.
Overall, it can be observed that visitors to the city made the most inquiries in person and via telephone, while letters or emails became a less popular choice. Notably, the number of enquiries made in person witnessed a significant change among other methods.
In January 2011, the Tourist Information Office received over 900 telephone inquiries, while just under 800 were sent by emails or letters, and in-person was the least popular method, with just over 400 inquiries. Over the next two months, the telephone remained the most popular method of communication, with 800 and 1000 inquiries in February and March, respectively. Whereas, in this period, the number of inquiries made in person increased from 600 to 800, and the figures for letters or emails experienced a slight decrease to around 700 in March.
From April to June, in-person inquiries grew significantly, to 1200 and then reached a peak at 1900 in June. During the same period, a considerable increase from 1000 to 1600 was recorded in telephone inquiries, while an opposite change was seen in the number of people who chose letters or emails for enquiries, so that figures dropped to under 400 in the final month, the lowest point during the given period.
