Regarding the USA, around 1,500,000 immigrants moved to the USA in 1991, after which it increased significantly and reached a peak of 1,800,000 immigrants in 1992. And then it decreased dramatically to approximately 610,000 in 1999, before recovering to below 800,000 in the final year.
Concerning the remaining categories, the number of immigrants moving to Canada started at 200,000 in 1991, rose slightly to 220,000 in 1994, and then remained fairly stable at about 200,000, before doubling in the last year. Meanwhile, the figure for Australia started at third rank, roughly 120,000 in 1991, after which it declined moderately to around 50,000 in 1994, before it remained stable at approximately 120,000 over five years from 1996 to 2001.
