The line graph provides information about the number of international students registered in universities located in three different countries – Australia, United Kingdom, and Canada – from 2000 to 2020. Overall, all three figures increased, albeit at varying degrees throughout the period. It is clear that Australia consistently had the highest figure, while Canada the lowest.
In Australia, the number began around 50,000 students in 2000. This number then steadily rose to a peak of 200,000 students by 2020. Notably, the enrolment exceeded that of the United Kingdom in roughly 2003.
Regarding the United Kingdom, there was a significant increase from approximately 60,000 to 85,000 students between 2000 and 2020. By 2015, the number of students in the UK equaled that in Canada.
Turning to Canada, the enrolment started around 20,000 students in 2000. From 2000 onwards, Canada’s numbers gradually increased, reaching their highest point of around 125,000 in the final year, before surpassing that of the United Kingdom in around 2015.
